"THE PUMP BEFORE CHRISTMAS"
The picture you see on this blog was taken today by a co-worker of mine as a joke, which is actually quite funny and i laughed when it was shared on our Whatsapp group.
Then i take a minute to think.
This is actually the common thing all subbies go through.
I have just been pumped with 12 others right before Christmas. I was told at 14:00 today (22/11/2018) that tomorrow is my last day.
what am i going to do for work now? I sit on my tools on my way home desperately thinking of who i may of missed when calling around for work. What sort of rate am i willing to lower myself too to put food on the table and presents under the tree for the kids?
Generally subbies get treated like trash. I am sitting on 3 boxes of tools with another opposite me that i lugged to this particular job 4 weeks ago .
Why did myself and 12 others get pumped? Bottom line money making from the company. Get rid of the highest earners!
This isn’t right and once again a reflection of the industries race to the bottom. How can a time served electrician who received praise for the work done whilst getting pumped be struggling for work?
